Ilaria and Giampaolo | Ceramists

Born in 1992 and 1988
originally from Caltagirone, Sicily,
their workshop is based in Faenza on the Via Emilia,
where it intersects the road connecting Ravenna and Florence.

Their work reflect their lives and influences, with colors that radiate Ilaria and Giampaolo’s warmth personality.

Their passion for ceramics began during their childhood. "I was struck first by the plasticity of the material, then fascinated and intrigued by the craftsman's skill," recounts Giampaolo, who saw someone practicing this craft for the first time when he was about six years old. "In my neighborhood, right across from my house, several ceramists worked. One of them specialized in modeling 'figurines,' small terracotta statues depicting scenes of daily life."

Ilaria and Giampaolo transformed this passion into their brand, shaping their creations on the pottery wheel and glazing them with colors born from meticulous study and research. "We wanted to convey our contemporary vision through ceramics, a material that has always testified to human history. In 2015, with the aim of enhancing the main cultural asset of our hometown Caltagirone we conceived Pantoù Ceramics. A brand of entirely handcrafted ceramics, which we brought to life in 2020 in Faenza, Romagna with a unique aesthetic tied to contemporary forms.

“Caltagirone and Faenza are two important cities that, in one way or another, influence our way of conceiving objects. We observe nature a lot: the animal world, plants and landscapes”
