Ludovica | Artist and illustrator

Born in
Originally from Finale Ligure, Italy, where her home- studio overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.

Ludovica’s artistic sensibility began in childhood, nurtured by long hours spent with her grandfather, an art collector, wandering through the studios of modern artists. Drawing quickly became her primary form of expression, later joined by painting and ceramics.

Her creative journey is eclectic and ever-evolving. She blends techniques and materials, translating what she observes, feels, and dreams into a visual language that is uniquely her own.The sea, open spaces, and her travels around the world—where she fills notebooks with sketches and notes—are a constant source of inspiration.

For Ecuador, the second collection curated by Personæ, Ludovica was invited to interpret the soul of one of the world’s most biodiverse countries. A land that, while rich in natural variety, remains deeply rooted in cultural authenticity.

The project was born from a desire to build a bridge between Italy and Ecuador through craftsmanship and art. Working closely with Ecuadorian artisans, Clorophilla Studio—founded by Ludovica—crafted a visual tribute to the country’s four unique regions: the Andes, the Amazon rainforest, the Pacific coast, and the Galápagos Islands. Her illustration highlights the radiant sun, ever-present and powerful, and the peaceful coexistence of diverse ethnic communities, each proudly preserving their own traditions.
